The Fethiye to Olympos Blue Cruise, which takes four days and three nights to cruise down to Olympos, is the most popular route along the Turquoise Coastline and one of the best Blue Cruise Turkey journeys. Travelling on a traditional Turkish gulet, this Turkish Gulet Cruise has something for everyone, from ancient cities and historical sights to crystal-clear waters perfect for swimming and snorkelling.

You depart Fethiye to cruise on to Butterfly Valley, where you can take the time to hike in the valley or enjoy the vivid blue ocean for your first swim on this unforgettable Blue Cruise. You then move past Europe’s most photographed beach, Oludeniz, anchoring behind the Blue Lagoon. That afternoon you arrive at St Nicholas Island, where you can explore the ruins before catching the sunset. Kas and the Kekova region will be explored over the next few days. You will be taken past the famous Sunken City of Kekova, have time to go shopping in Kas, and visit the ruins of Simena Castle. Throughout your Blue Cruise Turkey journey, you will be offered the chance to undertake optional activities such as paragliding and diving; you will also have the opportunity to relax and swim in stunning bays while enjoying plentiful Turkish dishes and hospitality.

You will cruise on a standard Turkish gulet when you board your Blue Cruise. These gulets are built to a high standard, and all cabins come with private ensuite bathrooms. The gulet will be equipped with sunbeds, a shaded relaxation area, and some water toys are usually on board along with snorkelling gear. Cabin options on the gulet may include twin, double, or triple, depending on the yacht layout. If you want to learn more about gulets and different private charter options, please visit our Gulet Boat Turkey page.

You will depart your Turkey Gulet Cruise in Demre Cayagzi Harbour, where you will be transferred to Olympos as part of your Farout Cruises adventure. The Fethiye to Olympos Blue Cruise is Turkey’s most popular route because of the variety of highlight destinations and historical sites this coastline includes. The coastline preserves relics from the ancient Lycians, Romans, Ottomans, and Greeks.

Lycia in Turkey is an ancient region famous for the Lycian Way, a hiking track that stretches for 500 miles from Oludeniz to Antalya. Lycia derived from ancient Greece and was once a thriving civilisation of the Mediterranean. Many extraordinary beaches are scattered along this coastal hiking route, making it one of the highlights of a Blue Cruise Turkey journey. One such beach is Patara Beach in Lycia, a cruise highlight.

Are you heading from Olympos to Cappadocia after your cruise? Farout Cappadocia has great package tours that can link your trip perfectly after your Turkish Gulet Cruise ; please click here to see all package tours.

Guests will arrive at the Fethiye harbour at 10:00 am for check-in and information before beginning the Fethiye to Olympos Blue Cruise. Once settled aboard, you will depart on your Turkey Gulet Cruise from Fethiye harbor and sail to Butterfly Valley for swimming, lunch, and an optional hike up to the waterfall. Butterfly Valley is home to over 136 different butterflies and moths; however, they can be challenging to spot in the summer months.

Afterward, you will head to the Blue Lagoon (Oludeniz), one of the world's most photographed beaches along the Blue Cruise Turkey coastline. The Blue Lagoon dazzles with its calm turquoise waters and white sandy shoreline, making it perfect for swimming, relaxing, or simply taking in the breathtaking scenery.

      Optional Activity: paragliding

Fly tandem with a professional pilot from Babadag Mountain to the Blue Lagoon, more than 2,000 meters high, and spend 30 to 45 minutes in the air while enjoying breathtaking views of Oludeniz’s world-famous Blue Lagoon. With nearly 20,000 jumps each year, it is one of the top paragliding locations in the world. Paragliding must be booked in advance of your Turkish Gulet Cruise.

Tonight, your gulet will anchor at the stunning St Nicholas Island, one of the true highlights of this Blue Cruise Turkey journey and a memorable stop on your Turkish Gulet Cruise along the Turquoise Coast. As the sun sets behind the mountains and bathes the sea in golden light, you can wander through the island’s atmospheric ruins, ancient stone chapels, houses, and pathways tucked beneath the pine trees.

A gentle hike to the summit reveals the remains of a Byzantine amphitheatre, where sweeping views of the Mediterranean provide the perfect backdrop to this magical moment. With its blend of history, breathtaking scenery, and peaceful charm, St Nicholas Island (also known as Gemiler Island) is an unforgettable stop on the Fethiye to Olympos Blue Cruise that captures the spirit of Turkey’s Turquoise Coast.

On your second day of the Fethiye to Olympos Blue Cruise, you will begin the day with an early sail to Aquarium Bay, famed for its crystal-clear waters and natural beauty along the Blue Cruise Turkey coastline. It’s the perfect spot for a refreshing morning swim in the calm Mediterranean.

Next, you continue to Hidayet Bay, a fantastic location for those who would like to try scuba diving. The region around Kas is considered one of the very best diving areas in Turkey, thanks to its excellent visibility, fascinating marine life, and historic underwater remains.

Optional Tour – diving in kas

For those wishing to dive deeper into the experience, Kas offers more than 40 dive sites, each with its own unique character. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced diver, it is a truly unforgettable way to explore the underwater world during your Turkish Gulet Cruise along the Turquoise Coast.

Pre-booking is essential to secure your spot.

Next, you will sail to Kas, a historic harbour town with roots in Lycian, Roman, and Ottoman cultures, which has evolved from a fishing village into one of the most charming stops on the Fethiye to Olympos Blue Cruise route. Its picturesque harbour and 2,400-year-old marble streets make it a delight to explore. Kas is famous for its jewellery shops and artisan boutiques, giving you time to wander through the town, browse its small shops, or relax along the waterfront.

In the evening, after two to three hours exploring Kas, you will cruise along the spectacular Kekova coastline before dropping anchor in Kocakari Bay, a peaceful location to enjoy dinner and spend the night surrounded by the natural beauty of Turkey’s Turquoise Coast.

      Optional Tours
      Scuba Diving in Kas
Kas is the most popular region to experience diving in Turkey. Booking pre-cruise is essential to secure your spot.

After a peaceful breakfast at anchor in Kocakari Bay, you will continue your Fethiye to Olympos Blue Cruise with a scenic sail along the spectacular Kekova coastline toward the legendary Sunken City of Kekova, one of the most fascinating highlights of a Blue Cruise Turkey journey.

The Sunken City of Kekova is an extraordinary underwater archaeological site that was once a thriving Lycian settlement. More than 2,400 years old, this ancient city gradually slipped beneath the sea following a series of earthquakes between the 2nd and 8th centuries. As your gulet slowly cruises along the protected coastline, you will see the remarkable remains of stone walls, stairways, foundations, and harbour structures just beneath the crystal-clear turquoise waters, offering a rare glimpse into the region’s ancient past.

Your next stop is the enchanting village of Kalekoy, known in ancient times as Simena. Accessible only by boat or on foot, this peaceful village is home to fewer than fifty houses and remains one of the most picturesque stops along the Turquoise Coast. Along the shoreline you will notice Lycian sarcophagi standing partly submerged in the water, some close enough to swim beside. A gentle climb through bougainvillea-lined lanes leads to hilltop Simena Castle, where the remains of a historic amphitheatre and sweeping views across the Kekova archipelago create one of the most memorable viewpoints of the entire cruise. Before returning to the harbour, many travellers enjoy tasting the village’s famous homemade ice cream, with fig and peach being local favourites.

Later in the afternoon you will cruise toward Gokkaya Bay, a sheltered inlet surrounded by pine-covered hills and scattered islets. This peaceful anchorage is perfect for a late swim, snorkelling in the calm waters, or simply relaxing on deck as the sun begins to set over the Mediterranean. Optional water sports are available through local providers for those looking for a little extra adventure during the afternoon. Dinner will be served on board while you enjoy the tranquil surroundings of this beautiful bay.

      Smugglers Inn Island Bar

For those wishing to extend the evening, Gokkaya Bay is also home to the famous Smugglers Inn Bar, a rustic island bar that can only be reached by boat. With its relaxed atmosphere, music under the stars, and sailors gathering from gulets anchored across the bay, it offers a fun and memorable night during your Fethiye to Olympos Blue Cruise along Turkey’s spectacular Turquoise Coast.

Your last day on the boat begins with a relaxed morning on your Fethiye to Olympos Blue Cruise, giving you time to wake up slowly and enjoy a refreshing morning swim in the calm Mediterranean waters. After breakfast, you will cruise back toward Cayagzi Harbor near Demre, arriving at around 09:00-09:30 am to disembark the boat. It is time to farewell your newfound friends and friendly crew after an unforgettable Blue Cruise Turkey journey along the Turquoise Coast. Lunch is not included on the last day.

Shuttle to Demre bus station / Olympos

You will be met at Demre Cayagzi Harbor and transferred by bus either to Olympos (approximately a two-hour drive), where you can find friendly treehouse hotels, or to the Demre bus station (around a ten-minute drive). Please note: if not enough people travel to Olympos, you will be transferred to a public bus instead of a shuttle bus.

Departing to Antalya, Kas, Fethiye, or other destinations

If you plan to travel to other destinations, you can be dropped off at the Demre bus station. Buses to Antalya and Kas depart every 30 minutes, while buses to Fethiye depart every hour. There is no need to pre-book these tickets.
